WHAT IS PAST LIFE THERAPY?

Regression Therapy or Past Life Therapy is a technique of Transpersonal Psychology, whose foundation is that the conflicts of the present originate in the traumatic events of the past.

The main difference with other forms of psychotherapy is that for us the past can be as close as this life, childhood, fetal life…or as far away as the most remote previous lives. For the soul, time does not exist: everything is happening at the same time.

The other difference – no less important – is its spiritual connotation: through the state of expanded consciousness it is possible to access not only the experiences of the past; peak experiences, mystical experiences, encounters with beings of lights or deceased loved ones often occur…all experiences that can totally change life, and in any case, convince us that we are not bodies with a soul: we are souls living a physical experience.

Why is it part of Transpersonal Psychology ?

Because PLT is a demonstration that consciousness is not limited to the brain or the physical body or a single life: consciousness transcends.

Clarifying some doubts:

1.- True PLT should never induce content in the patient. What appears is only from the patient. It is simply made to reach the state of expanded consciousness and experience: the experience that appears is handled therapeutically.

I have no doubt that there are unscrupulous fake therapists who could influence and introduce fantasy material into the patient`s regression, but that would amount to a crime.

2.- It is necessary to differentiate the simple anecdotal regression from the therapeutic regression: a trained therapist makes the patient relive the traumatic events and gradually heals them: it is not enough to relive them. I compare it to a surgery of the soul: open, remove and close.

3.- To avoid the risks of malpractice, the patient should and can find out if the specialist really is, where and how he was trained, and his references.
